Honoured for Integrity

Our company values of People, Professional, and Passion come directly from the way our founders, Lorne and Tina ran their business and live their lives. Recognized by the Leduc-Nisku Rotary Club with an integrity award, all of us at Mixcor are proud to be part of the legacy that they started more than 45 years ago.

Lorne and Tina Mix founded our company in 1969 and built it "Strong from the Ground Up". On May 5, 2016 they were presented with a Capital Region Rotary Integrity Award.

Lorne and Tina Mix have been living Rotary's motto, "Service Above Self", for many years and have left a legacy of contributing to and supporting their community in countless ways.

Lorne was born and raised in Leduc and Tina, born and raised in Dewberry, Alberta, moved to Leduc 50 years ago to pursue a career in nursing. Lorne and Tina were married in February 1969 and decided to start Lorne Mix Trucking shortly after. In addition to working with the business, Tina also worked at the Leduc Hospital as a registered nurse.

Through the years, as the business owners and community members, they have consistently been strong supporters of and vounteers in community initiatives, serving as members, board members, and representatives in numerous organzations including: • Leduc Rodeo • LRC Acquatic Centre • Terry Fox Run • St. David's United Church • Alberta Legacy Foundation • Black Gold Health Foundation • Leduc and District Victim Services • Rise Up House • Meals on Wheels • We-Can Food Co-op • New Sarepta and Leduc Figure Skating Clubs Lorne and Tina have always been extremely generous with their time and their talents, donating thousands of pounds of produce from their garden to the Leduc and District Food Bank. They also generously $100,000 to the Black Gold Health Foundation for the new CT Scanner and $300,000 to the Leduc Recreation Centre.

People, Professional, Passion

Through the years, Lorne and Tina have managed to balance business, community, and a hectic family life. This still continues with several volunteer commitments and the enthusiastic support of their four grandchildren's sporting and cultural pursuits. Time is split between volunteering, faming, travel and gardening. They carve out as much time as possible to spend with family and friends, and are looking forward to to spending as much time as possible at Lake Koocanusa on their houseboat this summer and a trip to Maui this December.

Lorne and Tina Mix have always lived Rotary's FourWay Test every day; ensuring that their work and their volunteer activities are the truth, are fair to all concerned, build goodwill and better friendships and are beneficial to all concerned. Lorne and Tina Mix have made our community and our world a better place!
