Safety

Our Commitment to Safety

Above all else Mixcor values People.  Our commitment to safety is reflected in our comprehensive Health & Safety Program, designed to protect our employees, our contractors, the public, and property.

Every employee is responsible and accountable for Mixcor’s safety initiatives.  Active participation by everyone, every day, in every job is necessary for safety among all workers on our work sites.  No job is so urgent or important that we will not take the time to perform it safely.

Management supports the program by providing proper equipment, training, and procedures.  Employees are responsible for following all procedures, practices, and wherever possible improving safety measures.

We consider legislative and regulatory requirements to be the minimum standard, and engage a Health & Safety Committee to establish safety ‘Best Practices’ for the Company.

An injury and accident free workplace is our goal.  This can be accomplished by focusing our efforts on continuous improvement.

Public Safety

Mixcor employees and subcontract haulers are required to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner whether on our work site, the job site, or when traveling Alberta’s public roadways.  They are responsible for conducting vehicle inspections after loading and unloading.  This is to ensure that tailgates and tarps are secured to prevent spillage and flying debris.

Mixcor is a member of the Alberta Sand and Gravel Association Registry.  Our trucks are registered, numbered, and assigned to drivers who are accountable for their safe operation on Alberta’s roads and highways.  Truck-related complaints can be registered at 1-866-901-2748.
